Homer L. Inniger

Homer L. Inniger, 97, Berne. passed away June 8, 2012 at Swiss Village. He was born to Christian and Catharine(Liechty) Inniger on August 17, 1914 in Adams County. He married Lillie(Templin) Inniger on April 6, 1941 who is deceased. Homer was a member of the First Missionary Church where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for 46 years. Homer worked for Smith Bros of Berne as an upholsterer and later at the Berne Furniture Co. in the spring department and was a factory tour guide. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army. Special interests include: woodworking, sports and reading. For the past several years he read the entire Bible each month.

Survivors include, a daughter, Catharine(Max) Haines of Berne and a son, Pastor Stan(Rebecca) Inniger of Ft.Wayne, 3 grand children, Sara(Kent) Scantlin, Ben(Jessica) Inniger, and Suzanne(Shane) Conover. Also, 8 great-grandchildren.

Preceding in death are his parents, wife, Lillie, brothers, Jacob, Amos, Ervin Inniger, sisters, Mary and Sarah Inniger,. Adella Habegger, and Wilma Zuercher.

Funeral services are Tuesday, June 12, at 11 am at the Swiss Village Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Monday from 3-8pm in the chapel. Officiating are Pastors Stan Inniger, Max Haines, and Jim Schwartz

Burial at the MRE Cemetery with graveside military rites by the Berne American Legion Post #468.

Preferred memorials are to the Swiss Village Samaritan Fund.
