Cindy L. Quinton

Quinton (Neuenschwander),Cindy L.

Beloved Wife, Daughter, Sister, and Teacher. Born March 18, 1965 to Ken and Doris Nauenshwander in Decatur, Indiana. She passed peacefuly at home on August 4, 2012 in Palmdale, California. Cindy was raised in Indiana, graduated from Purdue University, with a double major in Education and Photography. Later in California she earned a Masters in Curriculum Development. As much as she loved her hometown she needed to find work and moved west to find a job. Cindy moved to Palmdale in 1989 to work as a teacher at Ocotillo Elementary School in Palmdale. Cindy was known as Miss Neuenschwander to her fourth/fifth grade combo class for the seven years that followed. Cindy did so many things for her students that were firsts at her school, starting the yearbook, creating the music recorder program, leading the students in singing for programs. Cindy became Mrs. Quinton when she married the luckiet man in the Antelope Valley. We cannot fathom the number of lives she has touched. Cindy's joys wee cooking, photography, music, (she played the piano, flute, piccolo, had a beautiful singing voice.)Her students were always foremost on her mind. In 2010 she was recognized by the school district for 20 years of loyal service. Cindy was always looking for things to enrich the students lives. And on her own time she taught piano lessons, and cooking classes for the children and adults. Cindy's culinary skills were unrivaled, from a five-star restaurant to a Midwest meatloaf, there was so much love, care, and understanding of how to make an amazing plate. Cindy would cook for four or four hundred, and who could forget her deviled eggs? We could go on and on about how much she has done and how many she has helped and loved, but one thng is certain, "Cindy we miss you so much". She is survived by her husband, Allen, mother, Doris, sisters, Sheryl Nussbaum and Valerie Yoder, brother, Darrin Neuenschwnder, nephews, Luke and Matt Nussbaum, Paul and Gabe Neuenschwander,Tyler Yoder, nieces Makenna and Ella Neuenschwander, Cassie and Megan Yoder.

Funeral services are on Wednesday, August 15 at 10:30 am at the First Missionary with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation is also Tuesday from 2 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating are Pastor Jim Schwartz and Pastor Max Haines.
